CanWest Diamond Blades were used in deconstructing the Glenbow Museum stairwell removal project. A unique challenging demolition project that expanded over 12 months. The original stairwell was built out of 1.8 million pounds of reinforced concrete. Teams worked around the clock cutting out and removing sections for concrete with the use of a tower crane.
The Glenbow Museum is located in a heavily populated area of downtown Calgary, with a lot of pedestrian and foot traffic. This made safety a top concern while removing the large amount of concrete.
CanWest’s Diamond Products parent company, CanWest Concrete Cutting & Coring was subcontracted due to their vast experience in concrete cutting in Western Canada to help with the removal. CanWest’s cost came in lower than our competitors in part to our blades that are able to cut 30% long than most other brands.
Our team is always striving to create a better way to cut concrete. Our products are field tested every day to ensure the highest quality of cutting products can be offered to all contractors at a great price.
