How Long will your Diamond Blade Last

This is a common question and it has a lot of variables to be able to provide you with an accurate answer.  It will depend on the following:

QUALITY

This is the biggest factor when assessing how many cuts you will get from one blade before the diamonds are fully off boarded. A field tested brand, is guaranteed to last longer than a cheap diamond blade from a Chinese manufacture selling on Amazon.

A field tested blade can last well over 30% longer then a low quality blade. This is often due to the gullet design, the segment design, the length if the segments themselves and the general quality of the steel used.

Material

The density and hardness of the material you are cutting through will shorten the life expectancy of your blade. For example cutting through reinforced concrete, you will get a lot less distance cut verses cutting through a non-reinforced concrete.

Blade

Make sure you are using the correct blade for the recommended surface. If you use the incorrect blade, you are likely to damage your equipment as well as grind down the blade a lot faster.

Water

If you are using a saw with water, water can cool down the blade and dislodge some of the slurry. This can speed up the rate at which you are cutting and increase the life span of your blade.

It is up to the individual saw operator to determine what is need for their project. It might be a low quality blade that lasts for 12 hours might be more economical than getting a blade that will last 120 hours. If you are completing a large project, it is highly recommend, and is a lot more cost effective, if you purchase field tested blades.
