Is a Permit Required For Core Drilling?

Dependent on what you are doing and the location, you might be required to have a permit. It is a safe bet that if you are drilling into the foundation or structure, you will need to check with the local city or area to determine the correct permit.

For example, with-in the city of Calgary you are required to have gas and plumbing permits for renovations in your home. Renovations such as installing vents, sewer tie-ins, and other utilities that will need to bypass through the foundation of your home. In most places, if you have hired a tradesperson, they will complete the permits for you, but, please make sure to ask prior to starting the job.
